What We Do
Give Our Members a Great Experience at a Great Value
Monthly Meetings From September through May, the club hosts monthly meetings that are an exciting mix of educational content as well as hands-on floral design. In addition to the knowledge and arrangements you get to take home, you also develop lasting friendships and meaningful connections! | Fun with Flowers In addition to the floral designs done at our monthly meetings, the club often hosts Fun with Flowers workshops which are created by the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. Materials and a demonstration are provided, and then attendees are offered guidance on how to place plant material as well as how to make their special design last! | Field Trips From time to time, leadership and volunteers arrange field trips to destinations aligned with the club's mission and interests. We've gone to formal gardens, farms, nurseries, and even art museums...and there's no telling where our next adventure will be! |
Give Back to the Community
City of Winter Park The club maintains a wonderful working relationship with the City of Winter Park, which has led to beautiful results: Pulsifer Park: A lovely, small park in the heart of the city planted to attract butterflies and hummingbirds and lovingly maintained by the club as well as the city parks crew. The Edible Orchard: Located on Cady Way Trail, this space brings fruit trees within arm's reach to walkers, runners, bikers, and families... and they are welcome to share in the bounty. More to come soon! | Casa Feliz Casa Feliz stands not only as a jewel in the center of Winter Park, but also as a testament to the community's desire to preserve history, architecture, and beauty. In 2026, Friends of Casa Feliz is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the home's relocation, and our club is proud to provide the floral arrangements to help celebrate this monumental milestone. | Cheer Mugs & City Leader Appreciation Our award-winning Cheer Mugs Program takes place at our monthly meeting, and allows us to celebrate our members birthday with a mug to take home. Additional mugs are available to purchase at a reasonable price, and make lovely gifts for relatives, friends, or anyone needing a little more cheer! We often also deliver to the fire service, the police force, and the city government to help brighten their day. In addition, each February we deliver special arrangements to City of Winter Park leaders - such as the Mayor, the City Planner, the head of Parks & Rec, and more! |
Give for the Future
Camp Wekiva Wekiva Youth Camp is an overnight nature camp for grades 3-8 sponsored by FFGC for the purpose of instilling a love and respect for the REAL Florida in our youth through nature study, conservation and protection of our environment for the future of our state and planet. Accredited by the American Camp Association, Wekiva Youth Camp partners with the Florida Park Service to improve and maintain the facilities in addition to providing an unforgettable experience enjoying nature, crafts, and the beauty of the natural world in a magical, pristine setting for its campers. The camp operates during the summer and has six one-week sessions. | UCF Scholarships Through an endowment from our club, each year scholarships are awarded to sophomore, junior, and senior undergraduate students at UCF who are pursuing degrees in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Environmental Science. Applications may be obtained from the Financial Aid Office at UCF. | Plant-A-Tree Formerly known as Penny Pines, Plant-A-Tree is a partnership between NGC and the USDA Forest Service focused on reforestation and forest education. Contributions help to plant trees across the country in places impacted by wildfires, flooding, drought and other forest disturbances. |
Give with YOUR Legacy in Mind
Legacy Gift from Mary Ann Freyer
Distinguished club member, dedicated lover of science and nature, and cherished friend Mary Ann Freyer left a generous legacy gift to the Winter Park Garden Club that is allowing us to support the monthly maintenance of the Rose Garden at Mead Botanical Garden in Winter Park in her memory.
